celebrating its

80th year

Established in 1929 as the Junior Service League of Youngstown, the league has been active in the community, particularly focusing its energy on helping women and children through the creation and support of such projects as Hope House, Leadership Youngstown (later Leadership Mahoning Valley), Daybreak, Tod Parent House (later Ronald McDonald House), Ford Nature Education Center, the Children's Museum of the Valley (later Children's Center for Science & Technology), Career Development Center for Women, and South Side Hospital Dental Clinic. It has also given grants and gifts to various cultural institutions throughout the city such as radio programs aimed at youth, the Butler Institute of American Art and the Youngstown Symphony. The league continues serving and will continue to serve the people of the Mahoning Valley.
