WHO: |
The Association of Junior Leagues International has 290 Leagues
in four countries with 171,000 members. The
Junior League of Youngstown
invites all women over the age of 21 years who have an interest in
volunteering in their community. |

The
Junior League of Youngstown
seeks to develop a membership that is representative of the metropolitan
area we serve. Our organization reaches out to young women of all races,
religions and national origins who are interested in and dedicated to
volunteerism. |
|

WHAT: |
Membership offers women the opportunity to expand and develop their
leadership capabilities and to work with other dedicated women for the
benefit of the Youngstown community. The
Junior League of Youngstown
has a membership of approximately 400 members. |

|
WHEN:
|
Our calendar year begins in September and ends in May. The
Junior League of Youngstown
administration and certain projects operate throughout the year,
however. A Candidate’s Workshop for women interested in seeking
additional information is held in April of each year. Contact the

office for details. |

The Provisional year begins upon receipt of annual dues no later than
June 15 and a commitment to the one-year Provisional course training.

WHY: |
Our projects positively impact the community and have been doing so
since 1935. Major community projects are still serving our community
today. Grants are distributed to various organizations that meet the
criteria of
Junior League of Youngstown
grant-giving standards. |

HOW: |
We train volunteers. Through effective action and leadership of these
volunteers, we are able to identify and serve our community needs
through research and substantial on-going and done-in-a-day projects. |
|
|
|
|
COST: |
$184 annually for provisional, actives and preferred active status. |
